Spinal Cord is a Polish death and thrash metal band from Busko-Zdrój , which was founded in 1999.

history

The band was founded in 1999 by the singer Michał "Barney" Bachrij, the bassist Michal "Boba" Dobaj, the drummer Sebastian "Basti" Łuszczek and the guitarists Piotr "Smoq" Smodrzewski and Krystian "Dino" Wojdas. A first demo followed, called AD 2000 , before the group recorded their debut album in late 2002 and early 2003. At the same time, the band signed a contract with Empire Records for three albums, which made their debut Remedy in 2003. Dobaj left the band that same year and was replaced by Marcin "Novy" Nowak. The second album Stigmata of Life followed in 2004 .

style

Allmusic's Alex Henderson described the band's music as Death Metal with Thrash Metal influences, with the use of tempo changes being characteristic, while the guttural vocals are characteristic. In addition, the music is heavily audible through thrash metal bands like Megadeth and Testament and occasionally also power metal and progressive rock influences.

Martin winder from Metal Hammer ordered Remedy the Death Metal, with guitar solo on thrash metal bands like Slayer would remember. Wickler also described the vocals as extremely deep, while the bass and snare drums would be played quickly.
