The spindle loaches ( Psilorhynchus , Gr .: psilos = bald, rhyngchos = pine) are a genus of carp-like (Cypriniformes). They live in mountain streams in India , Nepal and Burma . Despite their German name, they are more closely related to the carp fish (Cyprinidae) than to the loach- like (Cobitoidea).
