The family company Spitzer Silo-Fahrzeugwerke GmbH in Elztal -Dallau is a German manufacturer of silo vehicles that are used for the transport of powdered and granulated bulk goods .
history
The company was founded in 1872 by Johann Spitzer for the commercial manufacture and sale of agricultural vehicles and goods. In the course of the economic boom, it increasingly built traffic trailers in different variations.
In 1949/1950 Spitzer designed the first silo vehicle and brought it onto the market. Originally developed for the transport of cement in order to transport loose cement directly to the construction site for large construction sites , further silo vehicles for the transport of food , animal feed , chemical goods and dangerous goods have been produced over the years . Initially, production took place in the factory in Mosbach . Due to the increasing demand, the production of the silo vehicles was relocated to Elztal-Dallau in 1966.
In addition to the main factory in Elztal-Dallau, Spitzer produces in Fegersheim near Strasbourg, France, and in Pécs, Hungary . In 2000, a new repair and service center was built in Elztal-Dallau, to which a spare parts store is connected.
In addition to its own production and service locations, there is a Europe-wide sales and service network.
