Spontaneous helpers are voluntary helpers during natural disasters who come together quickly and unbureaucratically to repair damage caused by earthquakes , floods , fire or storms . The organization takes place via social networks . The first spontaneous helpers came together after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti . In 2013, flood helpers organized via Facebook were on duty in Germany during the flood disaster . In 2014 spontaneous helpers organized themselves during Pentecost Storm Ela and during the storm in Münster :
