SportXX (pronounced with just an X) is a Swiss retail company for sporting goods with 62 branches. SportXX's range of products includes sport shoes, sportswear and sport equipment from brand manufacturers as well as own brands. The company, which is headquartered in Zurich, is a Migros specialist store , employs around 730 people and generated sales of 280 million Swiss francs in 2015. The SportXX Group includes the trekking specialist Outdoor by SportXX , the running specialist Ryffel Running by SportXX and the specialist bicycle dealer Bike World by SportXX .

history

SportXX was founded in 1999 and opened the first branch in Buchs SG . In 2008 the Outdoor by SportXX format was launched . In its 20 branches (as of 2016), only trekking and outdoor items are offered. In 2010, Migros acquired the majority stake in Ryffel Running AG, which was founded in 1984 by Markus Ryffel . In 2015 it was completely taken over. Since then, Ryffel Running Shop-in-Shops have been opened in 22 SportXX branches (as of 2016) , which specialize in running including foot analysis, Nordic walking and aquafit. SportXX has been running an online shop since 2012.
