SPORT 2000 is an international sports purchasing and marketing cooperation.
International
SPORT 2000 International GmbH was founded in Switzerland in 1988 as "Golden Team International". The company has been based in Germany since 1999. Since then, the group has grown steadily and is currently present in 25 countries. More than 3800 independent sports retailers in 24 countries are united under the umbrella of SPORT 2000 International GmbH. Overall, SPORT 2000 International represented a sales volume of over 6.3 billion euros in 2017.
Since 2013, Sport 2000 has sponsored a ski jumping team that goes by the name “Red Eagles”.
Germany
In 1979, four dealers founded FACH-SPORT Handelsgesellschaft mbH from the “Sportcenter” shop-in-shop system - the nucleus of what would later become SPORT 2000 Germany . SPORT 2000 Deutschland GmbH, based in Mainhausen near Frankfurt am Main, is the largest national association within the SPORT 2000 Group.
SPORT 2000 Germany, including its Swiss subsidiary, has around 1,000 members who together operate 1,400 specialist shops. In 2010, these achieved sales of around 1.5 billion euros, with SPORT 2000 taking second place in the industry with a market share of over 20 percent in the German sporting goods and sports fashion market. Together, the German SPORT 2000 members employ around 6,000 people and have a sales area of around 570,000 m².
SPORT 2000 Schweiz AG was founded in 2005 as a subsidiary of SPORT 2000 Deutschland GmbH and is present at over 250 points of sale (as of March 2018) in Switzerland.

There are various types of business under the umbrella of SPORT 2000. In addition to the classic full-range sports shop, SPORT 2000 has pure team sports, outdoor, running or golf shops. These specialists form their own organizational units within SPORT 2000, including a. in the form of Outdoor Profi GmbH with 80 outdoor specialists or TEAMSPORT PPOFIS with 50 team sports specialists. In addition, the LEX Laufexperten GmbH & Co. KG, with 68 specialist running shops, is largely organized within SPORT 2000.
SPORT 2000 Deutschland GmbH provides services in different areas for the affiliated dealers. The core of the service is the supply of goods. This includes creating product programs and negotiating central purchasing conditions with suppliers to the sporting goods industry. At the same time, SPORT 2000 is itself a supplier of goods through the brands High Colorado (outdoor), York (activewear), Stuf (lifestyle sport) and V3Tec (sportswear & equipment), which are offered exclusively to retailers. In addition, SPORT 2000 takes on wholesale functions for numerous brands in the sporting goods industry and organizes independent trade fairs.

As a subsidiary of Europe's largest trade cooperation, the Ariston-Nord-West-Ring (ANWR GROUP), SPORT 2000 makes use of numerous group-wide services. These lie in the creation of marketing and sales concepts , corporate, tax and economic advice , financial services and central regulation ( DZB Bank ), IT and logistics services ( Vanteno GmbH ) as well as training and further education for the affiliated trading companies.
Austria
In Austria, SPORT 2000 is represented by Zentrasport Österreich e.Gen. The company emerged in May 1972 from 10 sports retailers who formed a purchasing community. Today, SPORT 2000 Austria consists of 209 sports retailers with 319 stores throughout Germany. Including the countries of the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, a total of 272 sports retailers with 431 shops are looked after from Austria. This makes the group the employer for a total of 2350 employees.
Another mainstay of SPORT 2000 Austria is ski rental. SPORT 2000 rent started in the 2000/2001 winter season. In 2001 SPORT 2000 was awarded the Austrian State Marketing Prize for this. The concept has meanwhile been internationalized by the SPORT 2000 partners in France, Italy and Switzerland, so that SPORT 2000 rent is one of the major ski rental organizations in the ski areas of Europe with over 600 rental stations. 180 of these stations are in Austria. This makes it the largest ski rental organization with the largest area coverage in Austria.
Since May 2015, SPORT 2000 Austria has also offered online bike rental.
