International

SPORT 2000 International GmbH was founded in Switzerland in 1988 as "Golden Team International". The company has been based in Germany since 1999. Since then, the group has grown steadily and is currently present in 25 countries. More than 3800 independent sports retailers in 24 countries are united under the umbrella of SPORT 2000 International GmbH. Overall, SPORT 2000 International represented a sales volume of over 6.3 billion euros in 2017.

Since 2013, Sport 2000 has sponsored a ski jumping team that goes by the name “Red Eagles”.

In 1979, four dealers founded FACH-SPORT Handelsgesellschaft mbH from the “Sportcenter” shop-in-shop system - the nucleus of what would later become SPORT 2000 Germany . In addition, SPORT 2000 takes on wholesale functions for numerous brands in the sporting goods industry and organizes independent trade fairs.

In Austria, SPORT 2000 is represented by Zentrasport Österreich e.Gen. The company emerged in May 1972 from 10 sports retailers who formed a purchasing community. Today, SPORT 2000 Austria consists of 209 sports retailers with 319 stores throughout Germany. Including the countries of the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, a total of 272 sports retailers with 431 shops are looked after from Austria. This makes the group the employer for a total of 2350 employees.

Another mainstay of SPORT 2000 Austria is ski rental. SPORT 2000 rent started in the 2000/2001 winter season. In 2001 SPORT 2000 was awarded the Austrian State Marketing Prize for this. The concept has meanwhile been internationalized by the SPORT 2000 partners in France, Italy and Switzerland, so that SPORT 2000 rent is one of the major ski rental organizations in the ski areas of Europe with over 600 rental stations. 180 of these stations are in Austria. This makes it the largest ski rental organization with the largest area coverage in Austria.

Since May 2015, SPORT 2000 Austria has also offered online bike rental.
