Sprachgebunden is a magazine for literature, art and design founded in 2005 with editorial offices in Cologne and Berlin, which appears once or twice a year. It is edited by Jan Valk and Jonas Reuber.

content

The magazine focuses on literature and art from German-speaking countries. Projects that focus on the connection between different artistic forms of expression are also supported. Since the third edition (3/2007) at the latest, which contained a detailed thematic dossier on Chinese literature and contemporary art, foreign-language text and image contributions have also taken up space. Since then, translations from Serbian, Croatian, Russian, French, English, Arabic, Hungarian and Portuñol , a mixed Spanish-Portuguese language that is common in the Brazilian-Uruguayan border region, have appeared.

In addition to its self-image as a “discovery magazine”, language-bound sees itself primarily as a themed magazine - which was particularly evident in the two special editions (“über |etzen”, 2008 and “Arabic literature and art in exile”, 2009).

Trajectory

Since 2008, the individual series trajekt has been published at irregular intervals - each of which brings an artist together with an author / essayist (issue 1 - "woke up this morning, got yourself a gun" - Peter Rusam meets Christoph Cöln).
