Scion
A sprout ( plural sprouts or sprouts ) is the term used to describe the part of the corm (the organizational form of vascular plants ) consisting of the stem axis and leaves , mostly growing above ground . The section directly above the ground is the bottom of the shoot. Sometimes new growth is referred to as a young shoot or young shoot .
The shoot is composed of the shoot axis and the leaves . The stem axis is the rod-shaped part in which, in the majority of cases, the vascular bundles for water pipes and sugar transport are located. It consists of several sections, the internodes , which by thickened locations, the nodes or , Nodien are separated. The leaves protrude laterally from the stem axis at the nodes.
The stem axis is called stem in herbaceous plants , stem , branch and twig in woody plants and rice in the juvenile stage .
