Spurious Free Dynamic Range

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Spurious-Free Dynamic Range , SFDR , in German about "Störungsfreier dynamic range", is an indication that is also used in German-speaking countries to indicate the distance between the greatest disturbance and the fundamental in a spectrum .

In communications engineering, SFDR is the dynamic range (e.g. of an amplifier ) in which no higher harmonics ( intermodulation products) emerge from the noise .

The bottom of the SFDR is limited by the minimum input power of the amplifier and the top by the noise power (= intermodulation power) at the output.
