The municipal singing and music school in Munich was founded in 1830, making it one of the largest and oldest music schools in Germany. It is aimed at children, adolescents and adults in over 80 different offers at 124 locations throughout Munich , with around 135 music teachers teaching around 9,000 students.

The training program is very diverse: It begins with the musical game school and early musical education and extends through to preparatory training. 30 different musical instruments can be learned and ensembles or orchestras can be joined.

Performances often take place in the ballroom on the Bogenhausen church square.

In addition, the municipal singing and music school organizes many monthly, mostly free, events, with the concerts taking place in many other places in Munich in addition to the festival hall on Bogenhausener Kirchplatz (Neuberghauser Straße 11).
