The site of the Buddhist temples in Shikshin ( Chinese  七个 星 佛寺 遗址 , Pinyin Qīgèxīng Fósì yízhǐ ) in the old Karashahr region is a predominantly Tang-temporal complex of cave temples ( 锡克 沁 千佛洞 , Xīkèqìn Qiānfódòng , English Xikeqin-Buddha caves  - "Shikshin-thousand Buddha caves") and temple ruins in the Autonomous district Yanqi the Hui , about 30 km southwest of the seat of county government the greater community Yanqi (Karashahr) in the Uygur Autonomous region of Xinjiang in western China , on the northeast edge of the Tarim Basin . The site has been on the List of Monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-139) since 2001 .
