Disturbance barrier
The Störsperrwerk is a barrage at the confluence of the Stör and the Elbe in the municipality of Wewelsfleth .
The barrage was built from 1971 to 1975 in the aftermath of the storm surge in 1962 to protect against storm surges . To this end, a new estuary was dug north of the old one. The old estuary is now used as a port. The federal road 431 , which connects the Wilstermarsch with the Krempermarsch , runs over the barrage .
