Support was a fluid measure and varied in size from region to region.

Grand Duchy of Baden

  • 1 support = 10 measures = 100 glasses = 15 liters
  • 10 supports = 1 ohm

Canton of Neuchâtel

  • 1 prop / brochet = 32 pots = 768 Parisian cubic inches = 15 1/5 liters
  • 2 brochets = 1 bucket / setier
  • 24 brochets = 1 muid

Canton of Solothurn

According to the ordinance of May 31, 1824,

  • 1 support = 5 dimensions = 8 liters

The measure was 80.3664 Parisian cubic inches or 159.418 centiliters

Since the 1 Sester = 15 liters as bagged goods and 1 support liquid measure also counted with 15 liters, it was also named Sester support. There were double semesters and double support.
