Samuel Schindler

Samuel Schindler (born November 17, 1762 in Mollis , † November 1, 1830 in Hard ; resident in Mollis) was a Swiss textile manufacturer.

After training and working as a weaver , he founded a weaving cellar in Toggenburg in 1820 and expanded in 1825 together with his sons Friedrich and Dietrich and his son-in-law Melchior Jenny to form the company "Jenny & Schindler" : They bought a disused printing works in Hard on Lake Constance and set up a Turkish red dyeing factory in it and a printing company.

As a result, the company expanded with locations in Hard and Kennelbach to become one of the largest in the Vorarlberg textile industry .

Samuel Schindler was a choir judge, treasurer and councilor in the canton of Glarus .
