Buttresses

The supporting pillar is a structural element made of wood, stone, metal or concrete with a supporting function for other structural elements resting on it.

Support pillars are used as bridge piers (river piers , dividing pillars ), buttresses , as corner pillars integrated into a wall corner or as wall pillars integrated into a wall similar to a pilaster .
