Saint-Antoine is the cemetery chapel of Wisches ( Département Bas-Rhin ) in the Grand Est region . The chapel has been inscribed on the French Heritage Register since 2002.

Building history and description

The cemetery chapel emerged from the old parish church of Wisches, whose choir tower from the 13th century it represents. In 1371 it was named as a daughter church of the parish Lutzelhouse . The tithe and the right of collation belonged to Niederhaslach Abbey .

In 1741 the new parish church of St-Michel was built in the center of Wisches and later the nave of St-Antoine, of which only the square southeast corner has been preserved. In 1784 the choir tower was converted into a cemetery chapel with a small prayer room and a new sacristy.
