St-Budoc is a Roman Catholic chapel in Beuzec, a district of Plomeur in the Finistère department in Brittany . It was originally the parish church of the once independent town of Beuzec-Cap-Caval.

history

The chapel dedicated to the Breton Saint Budoc (Breton: Beuzec ) was built at the end of the 13th century. Around 1500 the building was fundamentally rebuilt and redesigned in the flamboyant Gothic style in the 16th century , the two large tracery windows in the east wall testify to this.

St-Budoc served as a parish church until the outbreak of the French Revolution . The chapel lost this status in 1792 and the faithful of the place were parish in Plomeur in 1801. In the 19th century the nave fell into ruin and was finally abandoned. The three-aisled long choir was preserved and the choir arch, above which a mighty roof turret rises, and the side aisles were walled up with stone material from the nave.
