St-Guénolé (also: St-Collodan et St-Guénolé ) is the Roman Catholic parish church on the Île de Sein in Brittany . The church is inscribed on the register of cultural heritage in France. Since the flat island is only nine meters high at the highest point, the church has a great long-distance effect.

history

The holy Guengalaenus and Kea of Landkey in their Breton name variations consecrated Neo-Romanesque church was built in 1898-1901 by the architect Armand Gassis as a three-aisled basilica and on July 8, 1902 consecrated . The bell tower was only raised by one storey in 1962/63 and completed. The nave has six bays and the choir closes with a semicircular apse. The arcade arches to the side aisles rest on mighty neo-Romanesque capitals and pillars.
