St-Jean-Baptiste (Ampoigné)
The Roman Catholic parish church of St-Jean-Baptiste (German: St. John the Baptist ) is a church building in Ampoigné , a district of the municipality of Prée-d'Anjou in the French department of Mayenne .
History and design
The core of the Church of St-Jean-Baptiste dates back to the 12th and 15th centuries. The elongated single-nave nave is vaulted by a wooden barrel. The bell tower rises to the south in the corner of the nave and the choir. A chapel is added to the east of the tower. The buttresses are made of red sandstone typical of the region.
