St-Paul, Lembach

St-Paul is a church building of the old Lutheran Église évangélique luthérienne - Synod de France in Lembach ( Département Bas-Rhin ) in France . The church is inscribed on the French Heritage Register.

history

The old Lutheran congregation of Lembach was first constituted as a branch of Mulhouse in February 1909 . Later it became a partner congregation of Wœrth . With the support of the American Missouri Synod , Pastor Martin Strasser, who came from the USA and who looked after both parishes, was able to build the Church of St Paul, which was consecrated in 1924. In 1945 the church was badly damaged and could be used again in 1948 after renewed support from the USA.
