St-Sernin (Montcabrier)
St-Sernin is a Roman Catholic parish church in Montcabrier in the Tarn department . The church is inscribed on the French Architectural Heritage Register .
history
The parish of Montcabrier was first mentioned in a bull of the Diocese of Toulouse in 1318 . Today's church, consecrated to Saint Saturninus of Toulouse and with a Gothic core, goes back to restoration measures after the wars of religion in the 16th century. An indication of this is a bell that was melted down in 1909 and dates from 1541.
Basic restoration work took place in the middle of the 19th century. In 1859 the choir received new stained glass windows. The impressive bell gable above the west facade was rebuilt in 1860. In 2000 the roof was completely renewed.
