The Church of St. Anna in Schindellegi was built between 1907 and 1909. Located on a hill, it is visible from afar and offers a view over Lake Zurich from its forecourt .

history

Until 1308, the residents of Schindellegi belonged to the Peters and Pauls parish church on the island of Ufenau in Lake Zurich. Then the chapel in Freienbach was elevated to a parish church. Schindellegi and Feusisberg belonged to this parish until 1492, before Feusisberg got its own parish rights and Schindellegi became its subsidiary church.

There has been a St. Anna chapel in Schindellegi since the Second Kappel War (1531). After the victory over the Reformed, it was built as a battle chapel. From 1895, Schindellegi began collecting taxes for building a church. The Schindellegi church building association was founded in 1898 and church building began in 1907.
