The St. Gallus Chapel is a pilgrimage chapel in Raßbach , a district of Ühlingen-Birkendorf in the Waldshut district .

history

The small hamlet of Raßbach was Fürstenbergisch until 1806 and belonged to the Landgraviate of Stühlingen . Raßbach, Löhningen and Hagnau were once part of the Schwerzen parish . Raßbach was first mentioned in the Thurgau document book around 1152. Saint Gallus is said to help in particular with ants (rashes) and boils.

The 12th-century Romanesque chapel is one of the oldest churches in the area. Some frescos have been preserved in the small apse , and the altar stone is probably also original.
