history

The church has one nave and has a recessed choir square core and had probably in the Middle Ages, a choir tower .

In 1631 the top floor of the tower was removed. In 1849 the nave was rebuilt and extended to the west. It was also refurbished. The nave has three-sided galleries . They are two-story on the long sides. The pulpit altar with Corinthian columns and cranked entablature stands in the groin -vaulted choir . The pulpit altar and the baptism were made in 1719 and 1720 by the Gera sculptors Johann Samuel and Johann Christow Schäffer and in 1967 they were redesigned. The baptismal frame dates from the 18th century.

The church tower has had a tail dome and a pointed helmet since the 19th century . The last interior renovation took place in 1966 and 1967.
