St. Clement on Poříčí
The Church of St. Clement ( Kostel svatého Klimenta ) is a Gothic church belonging to the Evangelical Church of the Bohemian Brethren in the New Town of Prague .
It was built as a church in the former Újezd settlement northeast of Prague's old town in the 11th century . From 1222 the Dominicans ' first settlement in Prague existed here , so it was one of the monastery and collegiate churches of the New Town.
The Clemenskirche underwent a renovation in the third quarter of the 14th century. The vaults date from 1578. From 1784 to 1850 it was not used as a church, since 1850 it has been used again by the Evangelical Church HB in Austria . 1893-1894 the church was regotized. The Evangelical Church of the Bohemian Brethren, which was founded in the same year, has been using the church since 1918 .
Archaeological excavations were carried out in connection with the general reconstruction from 1975 to 1980 .
