Carinthian State Exhibition
The first Carinthian State Exhibition took place in Klagenfurt in 1885 . 1329 exhibiting companies presented their services to around 100,000 visitors and laid the foundation for today's Klagenfurt trade fair.
The economic development that began especially after 1848 led to the founding of the Carinthian Industry and Trade Association in Klagenfurt, the first chamber of commercial economy on the soil of the Austrian monarchy, alongside which the agricultural society also developed a lively and important activity. Both institutions organized the "Carinthian State Exhibition" in 1885, which attracted more than 100,000 visitors. But this fair remained a single event.
The Carinthian provincial exhibitions of the recent past are less about economic than cultural-historical topics and also serve to promote the country to tourism. The first of these took place in 1991 in St. Paul in the Lavant Valley . This was followed by further exhibitions under this title at irregular intervals. The events of the state exhibition are financed by the state of Carinthia .
The next state exhibition is planned for 2020 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the referendum in 1920 .
