St. Cyriac

The Catholic parish church St. Cyriakus is a church building in Bruchhausen , a district of the city of Olsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

The flat-roofed, single-nave quarry stone building was built in 1863. The church was expanded to the east and vaulted at the same time in 1864.

Furnishing

Some parts of the furnishings come from the former castle chapel from 1811. This was demolished during the 19th century due to its dilapidation.

  • A gilded silver goblet with a height of 21 cm. The cup has a diameter of 8.5 cm, the foot is made as a six-pass . An inscription is engraved on the underside: CF Gaugreben Caplaris Sigburg 1709 .
  • A gilded silver goblet from around 1800. The symbols for faith, hope and love are engraved in laurel wreaths. The foot is made as a six-pass, the cup has a diameter of 9.5 cm.
  • The oil painting painted on canvas is 95 × 123 cm in size. It shows the Trinity and St. Francis Xaverius sitting in the clouds. St. Ignatius can be seen at the bottom right , showing the heavenly a host of converted Chinese, Indians, etc. The painting is signed DE COCK.
  • A 70 cm figure of St. Cyriac made of softwood. It was created at the end of the 17th century. The saint is shown as a deacon with a book and palm tree.
