St. Cyriakus (Rhode)
The Catholic parish church of St. Cyriakus is a listed church building in Rhode , a district of the district town of Olpe in North Rhine-Westphalia .
History and architecture
The plastered, five-bay hall was built in 1829/30 with round-arched openings and a drawn-in, three-sided closed choir . The Romanesque west tower under a pointed helmet was added in 1879. In the interior, a uniform flat ceiling was drawn in over a haunch with a profiled cornice.
Furnishing
The church has a rich collection of wooden sculptures, including:
- A late Gothic crucifix from around 1500, the so-called Easter cross .
- St. Florian from the 16th century is probably a southern German work.
- The high quality, unmounted Pietà dates from the second half of the 16th century.
