The village church of St. Eckard is in Stedten an der Ilm , a district of the city of Kranichfeld in the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia . It belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Kranichfeld in the Weimar parish of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The village church is located on the southern edge of the village north of the Ilmaue .

history

The originally Gothic church was given its current appearance by a renovation in 1616. Inside it is provided with rich baroque painting. The Trinity is depicted on the ceiling . In the pulpit , Jesus is immortalized with the evangelists . In the galleries the visitor will find pictures from the life of Jesus. The font from 1575 is decorated with lilies . On the side is a Gothic pietà .
