St. Egidius (Gössersdorf)
St. Egidius is a church named after St. Aegidius of the Evangelical-Lutheran parish Kirchleus / Gössersdorf in the dean's office in Kulmbach .
Building description and history
When the church was built cannot be precisely dated. The Protestant branch church of St. Agidius (a choir tower church) built over an older core was first mentioned in a document in 1398 in the land register of the Lordship of Plassenburg . It has been renewed and rebuilt several times. In 1535 the church burned down completely. It was only rebuilt 115 years later.
Kirchweih is always celebrated on the first Sunday in September.
