The St. Galler Zeitung was a liberal newspaper in eastern Switzerland . It was founded by Jakob Friedrich Wartmann and appeared from January 3, 1831 to December 31, 1881. Frequency of publication

The frequency of publication varied over the years. First the four-page St. Galler Zeitung was published every Monday, then from 1832 to December 1, 1845 every Wednesday and Saturday, from January 7, 1846 to June 30, 1851 once a week, and from July 1, 1851 to December 31, 1881 as a daily newspaper six times a week. From January 7, 1846 to June 30, 1851 it was called the St. Galler-Bote .
