history
The beginnings
On June 1st of the year 1766 the mutation was inserted, on June 9th of the same year an inheritance of the tunnel was inserted. On May 25 of the following year, hereditary tunnel justice was awarded . In the same year the tunnel with the mines was St. Theodore and Haarmann Bank no. 2 combined . The tunnel was set up in 1774. Then the tunnel was driven cross-cut in a northerly direction . The tunnel was to be driven over a length of 1500 meters. The purpose of the Erbstollen was to solve the deeper deposits of the Haarmannsbank , Ignatius , Papenbank , Prussian Scepter , Krockhausbank , Treue , Sternberg , Frischgewagen, Friederich and St. Theodor collieries . A small amount of coal was mined in the tunnel. In 1775 the excavation of the tunnel was stopped with a length of 170 meters. The reason for this measure were the high costs that were not covered by the low coal stocks. In 1778 the tunnel was put back into operation.
The other years
In 1780 the St. Georgen-Oberstollen was added at the end of today's streets Am Bliestollen and Fahrstraße . The tunnel was located 1150 meters north of the old abandoned St. Georgen-Erbstolln and was set 16 meters higher. The total length of this tunnel was 250 meters. In 1789 the Oberstollen was in a very bad condition. For this reason, mining was discontinued and a new tunnel was set up about 30 to 40 meters north of the upper tunnel. This tunnel was driven in the Haarmannsbank No. 2 seam . In 1820 the St. Georgen-Stollen and St. Georgen-Oberstollen were abandoned and broken . On December 13, 1825, the St. Georgen-Erbstolln was merged to form Carl Friedrich's-Erbstollen .
