St. Hubertus

St. Hubertus is a Roman Catholic branch church in the local community of Stockem in the Eifel district of Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate .

history

The church was mentioned for the first time in a Trier deed from 1132, in which the noble Fredesunde bequeathed the church and tithes to the Prüm Abbey . Around 1330 the church was listed in the register of the Archdeaconate St. Petri Trier.

The choir tower of St. Hubertus was built around 1220 and has a ribbed vault with bud capitals in its basement. The two-aisled nave, which was probably built in the second half of the 13th century, was provided with a rich star vault on an octagonal central support in the late Gothic period around 1500.
