St. Hyacinth (2013)

The Catholic parish church of St. Hyacinth in Bischdorf (Radlau) (Polish: Biskupice, Powiat Oleski , Opole Voivodeship ) was the village's Protestant church until 1946. It is dedicated to the Holy Hyacinth of Poland (Jacek Odrowąż) and Saint Hedwig of Andechs (Jadwiga Śląska).

history

The church, donated by Christian Gottlieb Graf von Jordan on the basis of the decree of Frederick the Great , was built in 1784–1787 and consecrated on November 3, 1787.

The church was registered on January 20, 1966 under 1073/66 in the register of architectural monuments of the Opole Voivodeship.

architecture

The east- facing church on the eastern edge of the village is a single-nave hall church with a three-story tower built in front of the west facade. The interior with a wooden ceiling is divided into four bays . There are wooden galleries on the south, west and north walls. The windows in the lower row are oval, those in the upper row are rectangular, with rounded edges.

The tower with rounded corners has a helmet in the shape of a dome, supported by an octagonal lantern . The church with a simple tile-covered gable roof has a triangular, unadorned east gable.

The equipment from the 18th century consists of the high altar , the pulpit and figures of Saints John Nepomuk and Nicholas .
