The St. Irmgardis Hospital in Süchteln is a hospital in the Süchteln district of Viersen .

The hospital has 160 beds, six of which are interdisciplinary intensive care beds. It maintains the departments of internal medicine with cardiac rehabilitation, surgery / focus on visceral surgery , surgery / focus on trauma surgery and sports medicine, surgery / focus on hand and plastic surgery and an outpatient cardiological rehabilitation department with 20 places; Furthermore, a school with 40 state-recognized training places for nursing .

The hospital is named after Saint Irmgard von Süchteln and is operated by the St. Franziskus Foundation in Münster .

history

The St. Irmgardis Hospital was founded in 1871 by the Catholic "Parish of St. Clemens Süchteln". By 1900 there were around 50 beds. Until 1972, the hospital was run by nuns who had to give up due to problems with the next generation. In 2009 the St. Franziskus Foundation Münster and the General Hospital Viersen took over the facility.
