The "Talon - Austro-Hungarian Playing Card Association Vienna / Budapest" is an international association that is interested in playing cards , their history, production , iconography and use ( card games ). The focus is on the former territory of Austria-Hungary .
purpose
The purpose of the association, which is named after the card term Talon , is to maintain playing card collecting, playing card research, publishing the results, promoting personal contacts and maintaining contact with the members of other associations and organizations in a similar area of interest.
history
The "Talon" was founded in 1992 and is based in Vienna . Its members, which also include some museums, come from numerous countries, but mainly from Austria, Hungary and Germany. The association publishes the periodical “Talon” (available in the Austrian National Library ), devotes itself to the development of private and public collections of playing cards and publishes topic-related research results.
In the context of meetings (often cross-border with partner associations) exhibitions are organized and lectures, discussions and game evenings take place.
