Hendrik Theodorus Petrus "Dirk-Jan" van Gendt (born July 18, 1974 in Boxtel , North Brabant ) is a Dutch volleyball player .

Dirk-Jan van Gendt played for Geové Vrevok Nieuwegein from 1996 to 2001 and won the Dutch championship in 2000 and the Dutch cup in 2001. Then he moved to league competitor Alcom Capelle . Van Gendt had his most successful period from 2003 to 2007 at Ortec Rotterdam Nesselande , where he was three times champion (2003, 2004 and 2005) and three times cup winners (2005, 2006 and 2007). From 2007 to 2010 he played in Belgium with VC Euphony Asse-Lennik and from 2010 to 2012 in the German Bundesliga with Moerser SC . In 2012 the setter went back to Belgium to Topvolley Antwerp , where he ended his career in 2013. Van Gendt had 247 appearances in the Dutch national team , with which he took part in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens .
