St. James (Harras)

St. James Church

The Evangelical Lutheran village church of St. Jakobus is located in the Harras district of the town of Eisfeld in the Hildburghausen district in Thuringia .

Several carved dates want to prove the age of the church . Older structural parts date from the 15th century, for example the cross vault of the choir . The later modified pointed arch windows are also part of it. They indicate the late Gothic style. The glass windows on the east wall, however, are only from 1909. The year 1621 is immortalized on the north portal and probably indicates the time when the nave was built.

The small community room on the gallery was recently set up and serves as a winter church .
