St. John Evangelist

The Roman Catholic Church of St. Johannes Evangelist at Gustav-Schiefer-Straße 21 in Munich's Siedlung am Lerchenauer See district was built from 1967 to 1968 according to plans by Adolf and Helga Schnierle .

All load-bearing structural elements of the church are cast in reinforced concrete with rough formwork; the infills and outer walls are made of exposed brickwork. The roofs are covered in copper. The church floor consists of green, rough alpine serpentine , on which the altar island and the singing platform rise in light, also rough limestone . The altar, baptismal font and sacrament stone, apostle stones and holy water dispensers are made of the same material. The design of the monstrance comes from Erich Horndasch .

It is part of the Feldmoching-Hasenbergl cultural history trail .

history

On January 1st, 2003 St. Johannes merged with the neighboring parish of St. Christoph to form the parish association of Fasanerie . From April 20, 2012 to December 31, 2017 they belonged to the parish association Fasanerie-Feldmoching, expanded to include the parish of St. Peter and Paul Feldmoching . Since January 1, 2018, it has been part of the PACEM parish association - Munich-North-Feldmoching, together with the parishes of St. Agnes (Lerchenau) and St. Matthäus (Hasenbergl Süd).
