Erich Horndasch

Erich Horndasch (born June 22, 1926 in Munich , Free State of Bavaria , † May 1, 2010 in Stammham ) was a Bavarian artist , primarily in the field of Christian art .

biography

Erich Horndasch was born in Munich in 1926. In 1943 he was drafted as an air force helper. He came into Russian captivity , from which he was able to free himself and flee to Munich. From 1946 he completed a degree in graphics and etching at the Munich Art Academy . His teachers included Karl Caspar , Hermann Kaspar and Willi Geiger . His fellow student was the artist Ingfried Henze. After training, Horndasch worked in Dießen am Ammersee . He was mainly active in the field of church design. Horndasch lived in Stammham, where he died in 2010.

Erich Horndasch was a very versatile artist. He used the sgraffito for the outer facade of the Rhaetenhaus . He created small-format pictures as watercolor on paper, glass pictures and lithographs . In addition, Horndasch designed large-format windows, tapestries and batik work .

Honors and memberships

Erich Horndasch was a member of the Burghausen color scheme . In 2003 he was awarded the Altötting District Culture Prize. During his studies, Horndasch became a member of the Catholic Bavarian Student Union Rhaetia .
