St. Catherine

The Protestant village church of St. Katharinen is in the Battgendorf district of the city of Kölleda in the Sömmerda district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish area Kölleda in Kirchenkreis Eisleben-Sömmerda the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

The St. Catherine's Church was built in 1702 from the stones of its previous church. In 1714 the church tower was built. The nave had to be demolished in 1957 due to static problems. The church tower was preserved, to which a reduced nave was added in 2006. The foundations of the demolished previous building were visibly immortalized as a construction requirement.
