St. Leonhard Chapel in Eggisried

The Roman Catholic St. Leonhard Chapel is located in Eggisried , a district of Ottobeuren in the Unterallgäu district in Bavaria . The chapel is a listed building.

Building description

The chapel was built in the 17th or 18th century. The longitudinal room with a window axis connects to the semicircular closed sanctuary. The sanctuary has two round windows and a flat ceiling. On the gable there is a four-sided ridge turret with a tent roof.

Furnishing

There are several wooden figures inside the chapel. These are a saint Christophorus from around 1520, a seated Madonna from the 17th century and a Salvator. The wooden figures of St. Walburga and St. Leonhard date from the 18th century .

The pews are made of softwood and were made in the 18th century.

The Way of the Cross is shown on 15 paintings from the 18th century .
