St Luke's Lutheran Church

The St. Luke's Lutheran Church is a Lutheran parish church. It's located on 46th Street in New York's Theater District , Manhattan . The congregation belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America .

history

The Evangelical Lutheran parish of St. Luke's was founded in 1850 and changed location several times until it was finally able to consecrate its own church building in 1923, which had been designed by the architects Tilton and Githens in a mixture of stylistic elements from Neo-Gothic and Art Deco .

The church has been on the US National Register of Historic Places since 2007 under number 07000483.
