The Roman Catholic Chapel of St. Maria is located in Flüssen , a district of the municipality of Kettershausen in the Unterallgäu district ( Bavaria ). The chapel, built in the middle of the 19th century, is a listed building.

Building description

The easted chapel consists of a room closed on three sides. Two large arched windows are embedded in each of the long sides. A mirror ceiling is located above a profiled cornice. Access to the chapel is through a rectangular door on the west side. A profiled eaves cornice is attached below the gable roof , which is also continued on the gable base. A classical vase is placed on the roof ridge above the gable .

Interior

The simple late classical altar made of wood from the mid-19th century has a dark frame . In the middle there is an oval altarpiece with a popular half-relief of Our Lady . This is flanked by two pre-tiered columns with fluted leaf tongue capitals. The blasted gable sits on the two inner columns, in the middle of which rises the raised altar top with flat gable. In the extract are two angel heads and a putto .

The stalls are classical and made of softwood . It is not set and has curved cheeks with a simple ornament. The classicistic miraculous image, a woodcut, by Einsiedeln comes from the 18th or 19th century.
