St. Mary (shouting)
The Roman Catholic Chapel of St. Maria in Rufen , a district of the Upper Swabian Kammlach in the district of Unterallgäu , Bavaria , was built in 1857 to replace a previous, dilapidated chapel. The chapel is a listed building. The chapel was inaugurated on July 2, 1857 by dean and pastor Johann Michael Ritz from Mindelheim . The construction was carried out by master carpenter Hiemer from Erkheim . In 1880 the chapel received a mass license . The chapel was renovated several times, for example in 1884, 1920 and 1949.
Building description
The small church building is a simple neo-Gothic building. The interior with pointed arched windows has a flat ceiling and is closed on three sides. There is a pointed arch door on the south side. The eaves cornice and the sloping gable are profiled on the outside. A roof turret with a square base is attached over the south gable. This protrudes forward on three profiled consoles and has an octagonal top. It is finished with a pointed helmet .
Interior
The wooden altar was created in 1857 by carpenter Beck from Erkheim. It is built up in the form of a two-column round arched pedicle. In the center the altarpiece shows the Visitation of the Virgin Mary by Joseph Kober from Göggingen . There are two kneeling angel statuettes in the cafeteria . The wooden figures come from the middle of the 18th century. On the antependium are three modern paintings with the scenes of the Annunciation , the Crucifixion of Christ and the Entombment of Christ .
The wooden crucifix dates from the middle of the 16th century.
