The Protestant village church of St. Martin is in the Graefenwarth district of Schleiz in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

history

The church, built in the middle of the 14th century, was a simple Gothic house. The furnishings date from the 18th century. The small church interior with two galleries has 180 seats.

In 1759 it was painted with English red and ocher on a white background. Over forty New Testament scenes are depicted on the parapets of the galleries.

The altar from 1784 is splendidly designed. The chair of the church elders stands next to the altar and bears the names of important citizens of the village.

By organ builder Christian Ernst Friederici from Gera created 1771/1772 organ is well preserved and of great musical and historical value.
