The Evangelical Lutheran parish church of St. Martini in Jühnde is located directly north of the estate of Jühnde Castle .

description

The church was first mentioned in writing in 1271 and in its current form mostly dates from the end of the 16th century. The west tower has a basement made of quarry stone with a square floor plan and a high half-timbered tower with a slate-covered hood and lantern. The rectangular church hall, which is also made of limestone, is kept simple inside. The pulpit altar is dated to the end of the 18th century. With the massive looking tower, the church rises on a slight hill above the main part of the village and thus dominates the image of the village street.

The organ was made in 1968 by master organ builder Rudolf Janke . It has ten registers divided into two manuals and a pedal. Disposition:

Bells

In 1709 the church had two bells, one large and one small that sounded good. Steel bells were cast in Bochum in 1868, and in 1956 the bell auditor described them as rusted and soundless.

In 1977, the casting of three bronze bells in Heidelberg was made possible by donations from the Jühnders. On August 21, 1977 the bells came to Jühnde. The clock stop bell in the lantern of the church tower was cast in Karlsruhe in 1987 .

Monday to Friday:

  • In the morning at 7:00 a.m., 5 min. Bell 2
  • Noon at 11:00 a.m., 5 min. Bell 2
  • In the evening at 6 p.m., 5 min. Bell 2

Saturdays and Sundays:

  • In the evening at 6 p.m., 10 min. Bell 1 + 2 + 3

Others:

  • When a child is born: noon at 12:00, bell 2 + 3 + 4
  • Ringing out in the event of death: 9:00 in the morning 3 times 15 minutes bells 1 + 2 (7 min. Break in between)
  • The clock bell strikes the time on the hour and once on the half hour.
