Stein Olaf Sando (born April 8, 1968 ) is a former Norwegian handball player .
The 1.89 m tall right-hander began his career at Sandefjord TIF. In 1997 he moved to the German second division HSG Nordhorn , with whom he was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga in 1998/99 . After three years he went to the newly promoted VfL Hameln , with whom he had to relegate in 2002 . Then he returned to Sandefjord. Since the circle position at his hometown club was occupied by På Haukerød and the young star Frank Løke , he joined city rivals IL Runar. After two years he moved to Nøtterøy IF, with whom he played in the second division. After retiring in 2009, he made his comeback in the Postenligaen at Sandefjord TIF just a few months later .
In the Norwegian national team Stein Olaf Sando made his debut on September 1, 1995 against Iceland and played 59 international matches , in which he scored 70 goals. In the 1997 World Series , he finished twelfth and at Euro 2000 to eighth place. He then ended his national team career.
