St. Michael in Eggarts

The Roman Catholic Chapel of St. Michael is located in Eggarts , a district of Altusried in the Oberallgäu district ( Bavaria ). The chapel, which according to the inscription was built in 1717, is a listed building. The chapel was renovated in 1903.

The building consists of a small room closed on three sides with a window axis made of arched windows. Inside is a flat ceiling , the chapel is covered with a gable roof . Tuscan pilasters form the transition to the apse . Round-arched windows drawn in on both sides are located on the sloping sides. The oval picture fields show the Virgin Mary on the flat ceiling and the apostles Peter and John on the pilasters , all renewed in 1959. The rural painting of the Crucifixion dates from the 18th century. The rest of the furnishings are from the renovation period.
