The Protestant village church of St. Nicolai is located in the Bösenrode district of the Berga municipality in the Mansfeld-Südharz district in Saxony-Anhalt .

history

The Lords of Rüxleben built today's church on the foundations of the previous medieval building, the church tower of which has been preserved . Your coat of arms is attached to the altar . The half-timbered tower of the church tower is characteristic of the church. In 1715, they arranged for the ceiling painting to be attached to the barrel vault , which was restored in 2011 and 2012. Under the choir tower is a crypt in which 11 adults and 2 children of those von Rüxleben were buried between 1701 and 1815. Access to the crypt was closed in 1970 during renovation work.

The rectory, the former school building and the church form a design unit. The school building became a museum .
